Renato Cigliuti is a proper farmer, the genuine article. His face is scored by wrinkles from time spent in the sun, his hands are furrowed by labour and his pale eyes are those of someone who has lived a life in the open air and still has a lot to teach. Renato owns just seven and a half hectares of land, but he has tended them every day of his life since he was a child. He’s a man who still works hard every day, taking care of his vineyards and his wine cellar. He’s reserved and he shuns the limelight. If you want to meet him you’ll have to come and seek him out in his vineyards at Serraboella. As a producer he’s best known to lovers of wines that express the identity of the terroir of their birth and of the people who make them.
